As an enterprise we provide programs, tools and learning opportunities that empower people to stay safe online.

We do this in three streams:

  1. Enterprise;

  2. Small to Medium Business; and

  3. Schools.


Founder - Silvana Macri

Well experienced, qualified & respected in digital transformation projects and programs of work, more recently Silvana has focused on cyber security within critical infrastructure, her recent role in the Utilities (Water & Power) sector but also to manage strategic relationships & build a program of work in the digital transformation group.  Silvana was instrumental in the development and leadership approval of the Cyber Security Strategy at Water Corporation (WA’s biggest water utility). For two years, she also tactically delivered a cyber awareness program starting with a very successful Cyber Safety theme and engaging the business through a 'champion' approach. She is an active member of AWSN - Australian Women Security Network and a member of  the AISA - Australian Information Security Association (AISA).

For a number of years in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne in the Commonwealth Government, Silvana directly led projects that implemented ground breaking Infrastructure and Application technologies. She was also the Department of Education liaison for Senior Executive staff, the respective Commonwealth Ministers and their ministerial staff at Australian Parliament House with a highly protected clearance.

Silvana is also co-founder of Kinship Camps, a social enterprise which helps transition children to adulthood at key milestones. For more, see


Enterprise - Karen Byrne

Over the past 10 years Karen has have gained extensive experience working for several US Multinational companies which include Dun & Bradstreet (D&B) & Microsoft. Throughout her career, Karen has worked as a dedicated IT professional gaining extensive experience of leading company wide and global strategic initiatives across Data/Business Information and Technology industries. She is recognised as an expert in Information Security, Quality Management and Environment Management business systems.

A true driver of a high-performance work culture focused on delivering exceptional results across diverse and cross-functional teams leading to the attainment of numerous industry-leading awards and certifications.  Karen believes in listening to the customer and putting the customer first, focusing on what their requirements are. She is articulate, and excels at the implementation of large-scale transformation initiatives via a broad range of best-in-class project management methodologies. Finally, Karen has extensive corporate governance experience through serving as Company Secretary for the Irish subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet (known as Illion Australia Pty Ltd). In my spare time she loves to travel and share the experience with her family.


Schools - Simon Carabetta

A high school teacher for over 12 years, Simon has a passion for everything education. Simon has taught in Western Australian classrooms since 2006, and has had the privilege of working at a number of different public and private schools as well as being involved with a wide range of subject areas, such as; Media Studies, English, Social Science, Visual Art, Photography, and even a short stint in Phys Ed. The first highlight of his teaching career was delivering the Certificate II and III in Creative Industries to Year 11 and 12 students at Ellenbrook Secondary College.

The second, and most pivotal highlight of his career, was teaching in the United Arab Emirates.

It was here that he taught at the Australian International School of Sharjah. During his time in the UAE, Simon was given the challenge of leading the Student Representative Council, sitting on the ICT Taskforce, and re-writing a number of programs so as to better deliver the Australian Curriculum to Emirati and ex-pat students.

Recently entering the realm of Cyber due to the ever increasing need within our communities to build awareness of Cyber Safety amongst our young people. It was while teaching in the UAE that Simon witnessed an ever growing reliance on device based learning understanding the issues that come with the territory.

At Stay Cyber Safe, Simon leads the Schools stream, partnering with StaySmartOnline and the Office of the e-Safety Commissioner to empower teachers, parents, and of course, students, with the knowledge and know-how to defend themselves in our prevalent Cyber World.


KnowBe4 Technical Master - David Paul

Well experienced, qualified & respected in IT, David is an effective communicator which allows him to understand and support both internal and external customers.

Most recently David has spent his time as a web developer and recently transitioned to become the Knowbe4 Technical Master for StayCyberSafe (Suredata Pty Ltd trading as) because of the potential leadership saw in his skill-set and intelligence but, most importantly the ability to work within a team and support users of all levels. Both these roles require acute acumen to detail and an ability to perform all technical administrative work to a high standard, able to streamline office processes to obtain optimum effectiveness as per the business objectives on very strict timelines.

Proficient in Java, C#, PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL and content management systems (CMS) in particular Squarespace because it is accessible from any web browser without the traditional transposition challenges.


  • Within less than a two week time-frame helped conceptual, storyboard, develop, build, test and deploy and - two fully functional websites for brochureware, sponsorship and event management.

  • Has up-skilled in Knowbe4 tool to a vendor equivalent technical level.
